It’s soaring glass- and terra cotta-clad supertall tower adjacent to Grand Central Terminal. Tvitec supplied more than 50.000 meters of Isolar insulated glass. As project architect KPF describes, the 77-story addition to the Manhattan skyline that, at just over 427 m. tall, stands as the second tallest office tower in the entire city. Tvitec also fabricated amazing oversized glass for the lobby up to 7 meters. The developer was SL Green. One Vanderbilt is being touted as one of the most ecologically sensitive skyscrapers in New York, including high-performance glazing that helps to minimize heating and cooling needs.
