The megayacht Renaissance sails the seas with the special glazing from Tvitec | Cricursa
The Renaissance has become one of the standout yachts of the luxury maritime sector on a global scale this season. Built by the renowned Spanish
Shipyard Freire, this mega yacht is the largest ever constructed in Spain, measuring 112 meters in length and ranking 29th in the world.
The yacht incorporates the most advanced materials and features an extraordinarily sophisticated interior design. Integral to this design is the vessel’s glazing, which showcases the high-quality craftsmanship of Tvitec.
In accordance with Freire Shipyard’s specifications, nearly 400 square meters of
double-glazed units were processed at Tvitec’s factory in Cubillos del Sil, featuring specialized sustainability and safety features. The insulating glass units that envelop the Renaissance from stern to bow are distinguished by a 16mm cavity filled with argon gas. The exterior glass of these
double-glazed units includes laminated and tempered treatments, ensuring maximum safety against impacts and harsh weather conditions. Additionally, the laminates were enhanced with high-performance SentryGlass interlayers.
For
Tvitec | Cricursa, contributing to this project underscores their full capacity to manufacture marine glazing at an international level. The double-glazed units for the Renaissance include
special shapes and non-90-degree rounded corners. The interior insulating glass also highlights the use of the
Neutralux range, which allows maximum natural light penetration while providing solar control that protects against winter cold and summer heat, significantly reducing energy consumption.
Its full charter price is estimated at three million euros per week. The owner personally selected rare cognacs for the bar and oversaw the arrangement of black-and-white photographs of jazz legends on the walls. He might also have had a hand in choosing the
Planibel Dark Grey glass, processed by Tvitec for various unique spaces, which is highly valued by designers for its dark grey, almost black, appearance, unique in its kind. Or perhaps the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer magnificent marine views in meeting rooms and VIP cabins were also part of his personal touch.
