Six lines, one of them 39 feet by ten and a half feet (12.000 x 3.210 mm) and two of them 19.68 feet by 9.84 feet (6.000 x 3.210 mm) round out the fully automated equipment that produce insulating glass with the some of the highest sustainability in today’s construction market.
These guarantee energy savings and eco-efficiency in enclosures and façades. The double-glazing process is produced by joining two or more panes of glass, monolithic or laminated, leaving an insulating cavity between them, which can be filled with air or noble gases (argon or krypton).
The glass units are separated with a desiccant between them, which shapes the cavity and keeps it free of condensation. The separator adheres to the glass with a butyl rubber cord that acts as a primary barrier, preventing the entry of air or moisture into the cavity. To complete the sealing of glass panes, a second sealant is injected – silicone, polysulfide or polyurethane – which also provides a double or triple glazing of greater consistency.
Tvitec also processes high-performance glass with special coatings on one of its faces, which add properties of low emissivity, solar control, selectivity and a special shading. Normally, the coating is positioned inwards (side two or three). As an added process, Tvitec adheres the double-glazed glass to the frame provided by the customer and offsets it, if needed.
