Tvitec’s transformed glass sales exceeded 136 million dollars (123 million euros) during 2018. The company maintained its annual turnover growth level of around 20% and set a new record. Ebitda reached 24%. Once again, the international market was the primary source of revenue. 70% of sales were located abroad and 30% were in the Spanish market, where Tvitec maintains its undisputed leadership.
2018 was a year in which large investments such as the new curved glass plant in Cabañas Raras materialized. It is located right next to the main Tvitec processing center in Cubillos del Sil-León (Spain).
The good performance of the North American market—USA and Canada—in the development of both office and residential projects with massive needs of insulating and high-performance glass, was one of the most outstanding mentions in the company’s economic performance.
In the R&D department, the development and launch of an absolutely innovative product proved to be very noteworthy. This was Rocalux, a screen-printed glass which was technologically treated to be transformed to make it resemble all types of natural stone, marble, granite, quartzite, alabaster, and so forth.
